Dream Big! Dream College!

GEAR-UP is Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs.  This is a federal grant that was awarded to Lancaster County School District for select schools with the expectation and added support that basically says, we want you to graduate from high school and go on to college.  GEAR-UP has several ways in which we help in meeting that expectation by encouraging students to raise their academic progress through tutoring, mentoring, after-school programs, college tours, SMART Academy, and lots of other experiences that help make the decision to stay in school, graduate, & go to college easier.

We, at GEAR UP, know it's hard to think about college when it feels like we're just scraping by to make ends meet.  As a part of this federal grant, Partners for Youth & The Springs Close Foundation sponsored scholarships just for the class of 2014 at Andrew Jackson High School and Lancaster High School to help make college possible by overcoming one of the biggest barriers, MONEY. All GEAR-UP parents & students have to do for a shot at this money is participate in GEAR UP activities.

usc upstate & Limestone College

Hey Guys,
We went to USC Upstate and Limestone College in February and I am finally getting the video up.  I've heard lots of students say "I'm going here" and "I can really see myself going to this school" just as much as I have heard "this school just ins't for me." That's what this is all about.  Seeing what works for you.  That's why we do all the tours and visits and workshops and events...so you can find the right fit.  
We choose the campus tours by student and parent input, these are the places that y'all want to check out.  We only have a few more trips to take before your decisions are made about where to go.  So let us know where else you want to go.
